Baga Gene

The Baga are an ethnic group in northwest Guinea. And there is a story; a baga woman hears music. At first she didn't want to dance, but since the music was so good that she couldn't stand it any more and started to dance.

Drummer's Bucket List

A ensemble of dry wall buckets playing an arrangement of We Will Rock You, Let There be Drums, Sing ,Sing,Sing and Wipe Out.

Rumble Ball

Drum circle activity where students react to a ball while it bounces, floats in the air, catching in the air, rolling on the floor and interactive participation by the students.

Echo Game

Call and Response between the leader and the group. This teaches variety of rhythms, counting and keeping time. Great warm up to learning more involved drum circle activities.

Melody Tubes

Melody activity involving various instruments including: Boomwackers, drums, shakers, whirly tubes and etc.  It involves an interactive groove where students build to a exciting climax.

Agbekor

Agbekor is a type of dance originally performed as war drumming. It would be used to either prepare for war or communicate the results of war.
